when you have school/research/mcat class/tutoring, how many hours do you have left to sleep? how many hours should you sleep? how many hours is good? i can't balance my schedule... i do nothing during the day, and start studying at 12am... but then i can't even think anymore at that time.

story of my life... i can't give any advice, but i sure can empathize.

^^LOL... no wonder i am still awake.. hahajk

That study is crap. fat people sleep less because lounging around eating nachos all day is not particularly tireing.

Well, that says about mastication as a form of exercise.

4 hours/night! 😴

Between 4-7, but I do best on about 6. I've found that if I eat well and work out I don't need to sleep as much.

About that study, that's crap. People who sleep more are thinner because they are using their spare time to sleep instead of eating that extra snack 😉

Yea I'm going to go with "I don't do well unless I get at LEAST 7-8 hours of sleep everynight" I'm a total grump if i get any less. I'm one of those people that was crabby as a kid if I was tired... but it didn't really wear off. I still get crabby at 23!

ditto! i am most energetic and productive when i get my 7-8 😴 , and a total crab when i don't. i worry about what med school will do to that sleep schedule though...

10-12 hours now that im on break. 🙂 Usually around 6 though

5 hours a night and I am golden all day long... my friends who aren't premed look at me like I am insane... little do thet know

I usually get 8 hours each night.

So this semester is my last one and, for the first time in FOREVER, I am getting more than 6 hrs a night (I used to get 3.5-5.5 on average).

It is GLORIOUS, SPLENDIFEROUS, OUTRAGEOUSLY great!!!!

Im sure that it will get old sometime but I dont know when.

Ditto. 5 hours and I'm good to go! Ppl don't understand how I do it, especially non-premeds... 😉 I do get tired when friday rolls around though. 😴

I don't sleep during the day.

Anywhere from 2 (yeah I know, that sucks) to 7 during the semester.

I used to wait until nighttime to get all of my work done because I thought I was most productive at night, but found myself dragging/taking naps/having trouble focusing during the day, so I started forcing myself into doing work during the day and turning off the lights by about 1 AM and trying to get up about the same time every morning (between 6:30 and 7:30) and am now much more alert and productive with my time, and definitely not as angry at the world, and also less prone to cry for no reason 🙄 I think consistancy is as important as amount, as is quality. Another thing that really helps for me is getting in regular exercise and not od'ing on caffeine. So I guess 6-8 hrs is my window- less than 6 and I'm sort of fried for the day unless I drink lots of coffee....
