How Many Programs In Internal Med to Apply To?

hi,

just wondering what a good number of applications for spots in internal is? this is coming from an fmg without the most brilliant usmle scores. um so i was thinking somewhere in the 40-80 ballpark.

also, how are you guys narrowing down the programs you're applying to? theres so many my head is spinning. i can't decide on which to apply to! i have been using frieda and the websites of the programs themselves. are there any other resources you guys have?

It's an inverse equation. The lower the score, the more programs. I'm in a similar situation. I don't think I need to apply to 40, but probably 20-30 IM. Thats extra $$ too, so choose carefully. GL
