I know volunteering hours in clinical and nonclinical settings are important, but roughly how many hours are expected by the time you apply for med school.
The numbers I have seen are averaging ~100 volunteer hours, about 10-15 hours per month for several months.

However, it’s not just about number of hours. If you have meaningful volunteering where you can have a passionate conversation with your interviewer, this is much more beneficial than someone who does 8000 hours but really didn’t get anything out of the experience and can’t talk about it.

    Quality > quantity.

Although quantity also matters because it shows commitment.

      Agree.

Applicants should have a history of volunteering which is why I said 10-15 hours for months, but it should be meaningful I think is the main thing. Do you agree? If you are just mindlessly doing something purely for hours, the chance that you will be able to passionately talk about this in an interview is low and is a lost opportunity to show admissions your passion for medicine.

I believe that you should have > 150 hrs each of clinical exposure and nonclinical volunteering.
