How much can CBSE make up for low class rank

Im top 40% in my class, have research and some cool ECs that have allowed me to make connections with my home OMFS program. Im planning to take the CBSE this summer and i know i have to go super hard, But im starting to doubt if i even have a shot with my crappy class rank. Can a high cbse (>80) make up for my rank?
If anyone has matched with similar stats to me please let me know.

Dude, you’re fine. Be ready to talk about your rank during an interview, but it’s not a killer. With a good CBSE score, you can get enough interviews.
