I know there are small, medium, and large dental practices, but on average, how much money does it take to start one?

I heard from an OMS that he took out ~$600k to open a new practice.

I have heard anywhere from $30,000 to $1,000,000. It all depends on what you want. Where are you going to set up? Are you gonna rent or purchase the office space? How many chairs? What type of office are you going to build? How many patients do you expect to have starting out? Etc, etc, etc. But, on dentaltown, it seems the average for a startup gp with 3-5 ops is $300,000-500,000. So, it is varies a lot.

You may get some better responses in the dental forum, as opposed to pre-dental.
