Sorry, if I'm duplicating another thread, but I just wanted to know how much you have budgeted for this application year's costs (AACOMAS, secondaries, flights, car rentals, etc.)? I've already been to one interview and am now seriously questioning my original budget.

I've spent $1,895.64 not including a deposit. I didn't plan a budget, so coming up here real soon I'll be scratching my head wondering what to do. I figure I can fetch a decent price since I'm always beating the ladies back with a stick. I'm also hoping on the 'final decision' thread people post their final costs so people can get a general idea.

I've spent about $5k so far, and I haven't made any deposits yet. The interviews are by far the most expensive part, especially since I've had to fly to all of them except for DMU.

I had several friends apply the year before me and most of them said plan on having $2500 - $3000, so that's what I planned on spending. However I applied to 13 schools and have completed 2 interviews (both in driving distance) and have thus far spend ~ $1640 (this also includes a new suit @$200). I think 2500-3000 is a good estimate for a reasonable budget but it depends on how many schools you applied to and how many interviews you get (and wether or not you have to fly to them)

I've spent around $2200. I applied to 10 schools. So far, I have interviewed at 2, both required hotel stays and one required a flight. I have 2 more interviews scheduled, one which requires a long flight (NY to CA). I estimate my total costs will be close to $3000. Man, I hope I get in.

I received four interviews and all required flights, hotel stay (2 nights at every interview as I like to arrive a day early to get to know the area), and one car rental. I averaged around $600 for each = $2400. I spent about $800 on suits, shirts, shoes, ties, etc... Figuring in primary and secondary applications, I spent roughly $5000. I applied to 22 schools.

Here it goes...

11 primary applications - $495
10 secondary applications - $600

I have had 8 interview invitations so far, but I declined AZCOM...

WVSOM - Hotel only (I drove from NY) $75
Nova - Flight $225, Hotel $90
UNECOM - Hotel only (I drove from NY) $100
VCOM - Hotel only (I drove from NY) $85
CCOM - Flight $325, Hotel $115, Taxis $80
(Cheaper than car rental for under 25 year old drivers)
NYCOM - No hotel needed, Will drive (from NY)
UMDNJ - No hotel needed, Will drive (from NY)

If invited to PCOM-Pa - No hotel needed, Will drive (from NY)
If invited to PCOM-Ga - Need flight, Need hotel
*** Will only go to either if not accepted to NYCOM or UMDNJ ***

Total - $2,190 + gas at its highest point ever :)

Having 5 acceptances and two interviews still to go to - priceless :D

I didn't "budget" per say. I knew this was going to be pricey, and my Mom has been a support, both financially and emotionally. I work full-time and go to school full-time, and I still barely make ends meet. I am lucky to have a parent willing to make sacrifices to help me make my dream come true. :)
