How Much Longer for AMCAS Verification?

I submitted August 13th and am still not verified. Should I try calling or just wait it out? Anyone else with a similar date who has or has not been verified yet?

Submitted 07/27, Transcripts Received 08/11. There are several of us (though not a whole lot) still waiting with dates around this time, so I don't think there's reason to be concerned just yet. I called the other day and the guy I spoke to just confirmed that I was in line and told me it could be up to 6 weeks - frustrating, but it was kind of reassuring to know that I'm still in line and not being held up for some random unknown reason. 🙂

Some 7/29, 8/10, 8/14, and 8/17 people were verified early last week while an 8/4 got verified on Friday. I'm still waiting at 8/11. Who knows what's going on at AMCAS. Not much we can do except pre-emptively write those secondary essays.

I actually called AMCAS today cause they're really pissing me off - they had lost one of my transcripts which made me have to resend, and then they send me 3 different emails on 3 different days telling me they have it now. Anyways, I learned that the day you recieve your "we got it" email, that's the day your application is "active" and it will take 4-6 weeks after that date to get verified.

Congrats! I'm at 1 month and 3 days and counting ... Everytime I open my email i just KNOW it's going to be there, and it's getting really depressing... 🙁

Dumb question, but I still don't completely understand what the literature has to say on this:

My application is not considered submitted until the verification is complete, right? And therefore if my verification stretches beyond 10/15, my chance at those schools is shot, right?

For a complicated set of reasons I won't bore you with, my transcripts and completed application weren't sent out until August, and I'm still waiting too.🙁

dude, schools' amcas deadline is the day that you submit your app to AMCAS, not the day that you're verified. So as long as you submit your app to AMCAS by 10/15, you're good for the schools with that deadline. Don't get me wrong here. You'll be screwed big time if you were to submit that late because of the rolling nature of the admission process. But technically, you are still ok if you submit by 10/15 to AMCAS.

AMCAS recieved my transcript back in august, a week or so after the MCAT. I sent my app. 9/3🙄 (yeah I know thats pretty late) .... so I might get my MCAT score and get verified all in the same day. <sigh> I hope I'm not too late with everything.

submitted 8/18, transcripts recieved before I submitted. Why won't they verify me! This is by far the most frustrating part. It'd be one thing if the schools were taking their time looking at me, but we are just waiting for some random people to look at our transcripts. Argh!

I submitted 8/3, transcripts were received in mid-July and I just got verified today!! There were no problems with my app (ex: lost transcripts) so I don't know why it took them so long.

I submitted 8/4, transcripts received in mid-July and I was verified today as well.

Good luck to all of those waiting - looks like the "4-6 week wait" line was true in my case.

Yup, the AMCAS f****kers will e-mail you when you are verified. Once verifiedn, you can then go back to the AMACAS website, log-in and see your BCMP, AO, and overall GPA.

In the meantime, you can all start drafting responses to secondary questions. There is an entire thread on secondary quetions.

August 17th: All three transcripts finally made it
September 13th: Verified, receiving a secondary invite right afterwards

Did yours say "Submitted to AMCAS - Ready for Review " up until verification.

I submitted my transcripts first, then my amcas on 8/7, and was just verified today. I've already completed 2 secondaries and have received one more in the mail. We'll see how long it takes the rest to get here.

Having gone through this last year, I can only say be patient. This is a looooonnnnnnngggggg process.😀
