Well, i have the 06/07 kaplan pcat study book, and not much organic review is there in my book. I *think* i have heard from others that there isn't much organic chem on the pcat. However, pharmacy is fairly organic chemistry based. any thoughts???...

I heard that ochem was around 20% on 06/06 PCAT. Do you know which topics that were asked for ochem on 06/06 pcat: isomers, names, reactions, IR,MP, BP, polarity....? Thanks

IMO, organic makes up about half of the chemistry section. While nomenclature represents a good chunk of questions, there are also reaction/product type of questions also. BP, MP etc may also be asked, but not a lot.

Thanks TennisBoy 78, how about trig on math section. Do I need to memorize trig formula and graphs? What kind of trig questions did they ask? Thanks in advance.

No trig questions, but a lot of calculus questions. Graphs of functions, calculus laws, etc. Calculus is about half of the math section. The other part is algebra (maybe 25%), geometry (15%), and arithmetic like percents and stuff (10% or less). Good luck on this section because I feel that calculus should not be tested as much because it is rarely used in pharmacy school.

Maybe it was just me but it seemed like half of the chem section was just reactions......

Is it true that it asked several questions about diseases/treatments/medications (mircobiology)? I don't know how to prepare for these questions.

I'm worried about the Calculus. LOL I hope they keep things relatively simple.

What level of Calc is covered by the way?

Uuuuuummmm, I never saw any, but there are several different versions of the test. I don't think I would worry too much about that. Worry about General Bio, like what the mitochondria does and stuff like that. Lots more of that on there.

I took the test january 06, and june 06, and in what i saw was that it seemed they added alot more Organic chem compared to the first time i took it. That hurt me

Is the calculus review on Kaplan PCAT 2007 adequate for PCAT exam?
