I'm just wondering if the secondary applications' essays carry as much weight as the AMCAS personal statement. Just so many to write I'll become a novelist! Thanks!
I'm guessing the answer depends on the school...I think Vandy, Northwestern have place considerable weight on secondary essays...it looks like Duke uses secondary responses to craft interview questions specific to your application...I'm sure that at ANY school though, secondary responses are as important if not more than your AMCAS essay.
think of them as ways for schools to get to know you better. they are important in the sense that if they see something that you wrote that's intriguing or at least somewhat interesting, you have an edge over an applicant with similar stats as you that is boring/can't write jack.
