How much will my 4.0 help?

Hey guys,
I was able to achieve a 4.0 this semester. Since I am finishing up as a non-science major I had only one science class. I understand that this 4.0 will not make admissions committees change their decisions the least bit. However, I am talking about those school at which I am on hold at (4 schools). It is just a curious question and would like to hear what people think.


Brings my GPA to a 3.77 by the way. MCAT is weak.

Yea, I sent it. I also sent it to the school I am interviewing at on January 19.

I agree-- a 4.0 this semester is definitely not going to hurt you. With a gpa of about 3.77, though, I doubt it will help because your ability to perform in school is not in question; the mcat score, however, still is. Good luck.

Excellent point. However, I have somewhat of a unique situation and that is why I think I have been put on hold at some schools as opposed to being rejected. My MCAT is weak but there are some reasons that may lead a adcom to think it is weak.

I just graduated in december. I finished with a 4.0 cumulative GPA. Still no MD acceptances...

Ouch, well I am sure you have interviews. My point was to not measure the sucess of our GPA's. I wanted to know if people thought it would help me get off some hold lists. No bigiee and good luck!!
