Before deciding on which school to accept, consider that due to the economy private schools will not be getting endowments like in the past. This will cause them to raise tuitions faster than the public schools. Make sure you have funds secured before picking your school.

Generally they tell you the tuition for your four years up front and if changes occur they are applied to the entering class. Now that doesn't mean they won't find other ways to charge you more money, like extra fees or high tool rentals and whatnot.

Regardless they're going to increase tuition approx. 5% per year especially in our bad economy right now. UNLV is apparently raising tuition by 25% or some crazy amount.

I thought that UNLV has to do that b/c they haven't raised it much since the school opened....plus b/c of the budget cuts and such. My school usually raises tuition about 2K every year but the school is only 5 years old anyway, so none of the alum are rich enough yet to donate back to the school.

I go to Buffalo and we just found out we are having a tuition increase starting next semester. The increase is approx. out of state $3500/semester and in state $1100/semester. Of course it sucks but we still have pretty low tuition and out of state can get in state easily. I think this goes for Stony Brook as well http://src.buffalo.edu/news/spring09billing.shtml

Everywhere will eventually get more expensive. My undergrad tuition increased about $2000 over those 4 years. Its the way it goes.
