hello everyone. i finally received good news after waiting for SO LONG. i got into two schools, Drexel and Penn State, and i can't decide between those two. I am still waiting for Drew/UCLA to get back to me on their decision. I was wondering if I could just pay the $100 fee for both and then withdraw one school later. Can you hold onto two spots at once or do you have to choose right now? Thanks and good luck to everyone. happy holidays

Yep. I believe after March 15 the places you have been accepted becomes public info to all schools, so all schools can see where you hold acceptances. Notice that until then technically schools are not allowed to ask you where else you applied, etc. although many violate this rule and ask you things like that during interviews. Some schools may start making money offers if you are a competitive cadidate with several spots if they want you bad enough at that point in time. You can continue to hold as many as you want until May 15 like prowler said EXCEPT some schools whose classes start before august. Most schools start classes in early-late august and these you have to notify by may 15 but a few schools start orientations and stuff in late july or june even. With these schools I believe the deadline date to make a decision becomes april 15, though im not 100% sure, maybe someone can verify this?

I've heard complaints about rotations at Drexel being all over the place/state because their main teaching hospital closed. Just food for thought.

I'd also recommend visiting the schools again before deciding

i just interviewed at drexel and penn state last thursday and friday and i think you'd have to be a fool to pick drexel over penn state. just my opinion but i think a very valid one.

So what are you going to do now?

based on per capita chocolate consumption alone, this is true

so after march 15, do schools see all the schools that you get accepted to or just the ones that you're holding acceptances at?

i'm confused. i thought it was may 15th when everyone could see where you hold acceptances. i guess that wouldn't make much sense then since you have to have one and only school on your list by may 15th. does anyone know how many waitlists you can stay on after may 15th? thanks!

how to deal??
give one to ME.

On May 15, you must give up all your acceptances except for one. You may stay on as many waitlists as you'd like. If you are accepted off a school's waitlist after May 15, you usually have 1-2 weeks to decide between that school and the school to which you already hold an acceptance.

I don't know for sure when school's know where you've been accepted, but I think it's March 15

Seriously? Just out of curiosity, why do you think this? Did you have a bad Drexel interview? I think that they are both solid schools, but in very different locations and so in the end, choosing between the two is probably a matter of area preference. Philly seems like it's not the safest city in the entire world, but Hershey is kind of small. Was Penn State a lot nicer? How's their match list?

You can accept at both right now. I would vote for Penn State. Go back and visit.

Yikes. I would have to respectfully disagree! 🙂

It's May 15 when schools can see where you've been accepted. It's also May 15 when you can only be holding one acceptance.
