I am repeatedly told of anecdotes of waitlisted students who constantly express their interest to a school through phone calls and letters, and ultimately are granted an acceptance weeks down the line.

I was wondering, how to I exhibit interest through phone calls?
Do I just constantly ask for status updates? Do I call with smart inquiries?

And finally, is this recommended? I have heard that the admissions staff could become annoyed with you.

i would advise against calls though i'm sure it may very well work out.

Ah, I'll just sent letters of continued interest then.

At what frequency would be ideal?
I was hoping to send one every 1-2 weeks.
