how to find a job after residency

sounds like a stupid question, and it probably is.. but exactly how does one go about finding a job after residency? its not like surfing through monster.com, or your local newspaper...

Looking through the publications of your specialty can be useful if they have a classified section. I also used the annual directory of my specialty to find specialists in the area I wanted to practice and contact them with a cover letter and CV. My program director also gets multiple mailings each week from practices across the country looking for associates. Networking is also valuable.

talk to the local supply reps, they usually know where someone may be needed. its how i found my associateship!

I actually looked at the local newspaper (the LA times) to find jobs and that’s how I got all 3 part time jobs right after my ortho residency. I flew home on Friday, started my 1st job on Saturday…..and picked up a brand new car on Sunday:D.
