So... I got a Friday interview at Bradenton (Feb 23rd), and am going to head down on Thursday. What's the cheap way of getting from Tampa Airport to Bradenton, since I am going to be down there until Monday.

Are there any cheaper places than Hampton Inn?

I'm interviewing there on March 6th and I found Days Inn to be $20 cheaper before taxes.

Good luck on your interview.

I dont know which method of transportation is cheaper, but my mom and I rented a car. The drive from Tampa to Bradenton is really easy and beautiful. The morning of the interview, we drove from Ellenton to Bradenton and that was also an easy drive. Hope this helps. Good luck!!!

There used to be a shuttle between the Tampa airport and the Sarasota-Bradenton airport. That was 10+ years ago; I'm not sure if it's still in service. You'd still need some way (cab I guess) to get from the Sarasota airport to LECOM though.

That shuttle service still runs. I interviewed at LECOM Bradenton, and i took the shuttle to bradenton airport, then a cab from the airport, to my hotel. It's definitely cheaper than a direct cab ride to Bradenton. However, the shuttle bus runs every hour and a half to two hours, and is cash only.

There's also Lakewood Ranch Limousines. I only found out about them after getting to my hotel in Bradenton, but they gave me a good deal for a ride to the interview, and back to Tampa airport (about 90 bucks). These guys are probably better than the Sarasota express. I'd call ahead to book an appointment, at (941) 321-5597.

I rented a car, it was a very fast drive.

I liked the Hampton in, also. If you realize you need anything, there are a bunch of stores right around it. Easy to avoid bad traffic from there, also.

Where are you flying in from? Did you check to see if you can fly directly into Sarasota-Bradenton Airport? I know that Jet Blue now flies in from NY.

If not, the best thing to do is to rent a car, because you are going to need one to get around Bradenton (I know, I live here!). It is a very sprawled out area with LECOM close to I-75, and yet it is probably about 30 minutes from there to the beach (and why come to Florida if you are not going visit the beaches). Check out Alamo, they usually have good routes.

If you need any info, please don't hesitate to contact me...I'd be glad to help out.
