How to organize study w/ examkrackers?

Hi, I am also using primarily the EK books to study with. My strategy was to first take a full-length practice exam (I used AAMC I) to see where I'm at and what I need to work on, then I prioritized my studying by starting with my weakest subjects and working my way up to the strongest (in my case this means starting with gen chem, then physics, o-chem, and bio; my VR scores are very good without studying so I probably won't spend much time on that). I'm just using the books and reading a lecture or two at a time, then taking the end-of-lecture exams (timed) and reviewing the answers I missed to make sure I understand why. It seems to be working fine for me, although I probably should be putting in more time as I planned to be done with gen chem review by now and am in reality only about halfway through.🙄 I'm hoping to be done with all review by the end of march, then I'll just spend April taking practice tests and reviewing those. I don't plan on taking another practice exam until the end of this month when I'm done with all the PS review (my weakest area), so I don't know yet whether this strategy is actually helping to bring up my scores, but I feel pretty good about it if I can just stick to my schedule. Good luck!

Mistress, have you only started the gen chem book or have you finished other books? I feel like I am behind on studying since I've only done 1 bio lecture, 2 o chem lectures, 4 physics lectures, and 5 gen chem lectures. I'm not even half way done! It seems that most people are almost done reviewing and are already doing practice tests. It would be nice to know that there are others who are in the same position as me and that perhaps I'm not that far behind.

Nope, Drwannabe, I'm only on the gen chem book, so I must be really behind! I've taken a couple practice exams (one that Kaplan offered at my school and one full length at home) and begun my review, but that's as far as I've gotten. I know I need to pick it up, but I also know that we still have 12 weeks, and I don't know about you but I'm a procrastinator. It's hard for me to get motivated this far in advance, but I know I should. A lot of people on this board started reviewing back in like Nov. and are now just doing practice exams or passages, but that was never my strategy. Anyway, I think (hope) that 3 months of solid review will be good enough.
I also think it should also be a function of where you're at and how far you need to go- my scores on the practice exams I have taken, before I started studying, both put my score at 27, so I'm not as freaked out as if I had gotten like 16 and needed to raise my score 14 points to be competitive instead of just 3 (30 being my minimum target score, obviously). However, I don't want to let that get to my head too much and think I don't need to study, and if I can really rock this thing that would of course be great, so I better get my butt in gear! Good luck to both of us.😀
