Fellow pre-dents,

I am sure this is a common question read around these forums, but how do you study for the DAT? I have the red Kaplan book and some textbooks from undergrad. Here's my dilema, I have 3 1/2 weeks to prepare and so I go into the Kaplan book, read and take notes. THe bad thing is that I feel my taking notes is taking WAY too long and I feel like I am just rewriting the Kaplan book! This is obviously inefficient and I want to find a better way. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks..

I took notes only on a few sections I had a hard time memorizing. The rest, I just read through about 3 times with a few days spacing in between. That said, I think the most important thing is doing practice tests.

I completely agree with dds4. The best thing for you to do is practice, practice, practice---doing questions that is! Do as many questions as you have at your disposal. Now is time to study smart, not hard (I stole that from someone online 😀 ) Take the ADA-provided test and see how you do. Then take the Kaplan ones and the Top Score tests. So, take a test, see where you scored low, and review that topic. Take another test, see where you scored low, and review only that topic.......and so on. I think you will do awesome. I know someone who studied for three and something weeks and did just fine. You will do great--- and try not too burn yourself out. You may feel like cramming with only 3 1/2 weeks left, but DON'T! Study at a healthy pace. Best of luck to you!
