I'm only a freshman, taking Pre-calc and intro courses and will be talking to my advisor, but I wanted some advice from you on how to arrange my future schedule. Would it be better to take:

Bio,Chem, and Calc spring term, then finish Bio and Chem in the summer and therefore start Physics and Orgo during Fall sophomore year (then take biochem or genetics during summer or Fall of Junior year)

or would you just take Chem and calc spring, then start bio and finish chem in the summer, therefore taking bio II with orgo I next Fall?

Basically what I'm asking is, would it be better to finish my science pre-reqs by sophomore year, or should I spread it out more so that it'll be done come Spring of junior year?

Is it better to finish Chem and Bio freshman year, and then finish orgo and physics sophomore year? I figured it would be good since you get it out of the way, but it wouldn't be fresh in your mind come MCAT time, but then again, you'll also have more time to preapare.

I know I may be getting a little ahead of myself, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Thanks

If I had all the advice, time, and brains to do it all over again, I would definitely want to finish my pre-reqs by the end of my sophomore year. I would study for the MCAT the summer before my junior year and take the MCAT that August. That way if I needed to do better I could still take it in April and not be late for the application cycle. So you definitely need to take gen chem freshman year and ochem sophomore year. Physics and bio can be either year IMO - if you're going to be a bio major take bio first and physics soph year. That way your upper division bio courses will keep the bio fresh in your mind. If your major uses more physics, take physics first for the same reasons.

My $.02.
