If a physician prescribed an acei to someone in their late 50's with stage 2 HTN, when would the physician ask for the patient to return to see if the medication was working? And i can't find when to follow-up anywhere in the literature. I search guidelines.gov and found nothing, even looking in goodman and gillman's but that didn't help either.

Family Practice Guidelines (Cash and Glass) recommends 1-2 weeks. This is what I see in all the outpatient Family/Internal/Cardiology offices I have been in as well.

Should have a follow up in order to make sure creatinine doesn't rise above 30% over baseline. There's also a risk of hyperkalemia.
