Can anybody help me interpret this graph? I could not follow through because I interpreted the graph very differently. Thanks!

Stuff is a liquid when its sandwiched between MP line and BP line (it melted, but hasnt boiled). 4C,5C,and 6C chains seem to fall in this range.

So when between 0 and -100 degrees Celsius, I drew a horizontal line. The points of intersection were at n=3 for the boiling point line and just nearly n=7 for the melting point line. So the question is what do the intersected points represent? A phase change that is going on? And what do the dips and different curves mean?

Draw a horizontal line at -50. That line will be divided into three sections. The first section is gas. The second is liquid. The final is solid.
