i do not know for you all but anxiety about my scores is going up day by day as the release date gets closer. I do not have school for another 3 weeks so all I can think of is how bad I might have done.

wow sorry; i can pretty much forget about them for awhile....think of it this way, there isn't a thing you can do about it now to change anything so what's the point in worrying? wait until the day before to start feeling panic.

what day should be get the results? need to know when i can start worrying....and then maybe get out of town

I got drunk seriously yesterday. I will not think about the MCAT for another week because I lost a large quantity of MCAT brain cells yesterday.

All I've thinking about over the past few weeks is this amazingly beautiful girl that I plan on asking out but I first have to biuld up the nerve. so the mcats are the least on my mine.

awesome!! a diverson is always nice

It seems that the least understood aspect of being a pre-med is just how much waiting is required in Senior year.

I thought this year would go by the fastest, since I had the MCAT, study abroad, primary application, secondaries, interviews, classes, and acceptances/rejections all within a six month period.

I was wrong. This is going by too slowly!

wow, i'd think with all that it would fly by. Actually for me being so busy it is going by quickly. i also lov ethis place and it is with much regret i'll bel eaving it in May; therefore as much as i look forward to my future it will be very sad to leave...therefore i don't want the time to go too quickly.

i also am very adept at blocking out wha i dont want to know/face, so i'm trying to do that regarding my MCAT results and even my application process..at least for the moment.

Hey Psycho, where do you go to school? I graduated last year and I still miss being an undergrad like you wouldn't believe. I didn't know it at the time, but college was probably the most amazing 4 yrs of my life. Hopefully that will change in the future but right now that's the way I see it.

i suppose i could PM it to you...i'd rather remain anonymous

i love college and will miss it incredibly, i'm sure. I agree hope the future holds other treasured times.

what are you doing now?

There is really no point in worrying about your score at this point. In all honesty, no one can do a thing to change the score they will see on October 15th, nor will anyone be able to do anything about his or her score once it is received. It's just an exam score, and granted it will determine the outcome of your application process, I stress again that come October 15, what you see is what you get. Worry about your score AFTER you receive it, because that's when worrying will matter most.

On top of all of that, if you really have nothing to do at the moment but sit around and worry about your MCAT score, maybe you should think about what you could instead be doing to improve your applications to medical school. For example, spend some time volunteering, shadowing doctors, reading, etc. Just do something to keep your mind off of the MCAT score (which is still over a month away anyhow), and you'll quickly learn that the time you spend doing so will benefit your application in the long run.

Good luck to all applicants and August test-takers! 🙂

about a month left........... :scared: :scared:

Hey you guys, not to freak any one out, but I heard from one of my girlfriends who took the test in Aug, that the results are going to be delayed because people in Florida have not been able to take the test yet due to the hurricanes-and they like to grade all the tests at once. This somewhat baffled me as I didn't realize that any hurricanes had hit Florida on or around Aug. 14th.

Anyone else know anything about this?

The Florida MCAT'ers who were unable to sit for the exam on Aug 14 due to Hurricane Charley took the MCAT during the last weekend in August (i.e., two weeks ago). Their results will not be delayed; everyone who took the MCAT last month will receive their scores around mid-October. A similar problem occured last year with the power outages in the northeast. The MCAT was re-administered for those test takers a few weeks later, but they received their scores the same time as everyone who took it on the originally scheduled date in August.

I hope the scores are not delayed.

Thanks, I will reassure my friend. This does seem more logical.
