I called all the dental schools that applied today morning to check the status of my applications. Most of them told me to call back in august or september. Some of them were not happy to talk to me (that's how i felt), but it seems like it is too early to call them and check the status? by the way, columbia said my application is complete (only one out of 13)

My aadsas # is 175.

I have a question. How did you got your AADSAS number? I sent my application to AADSAS June 15th, I was not given a number.

Is the AADSAS number really that important? because I don't wanna bother them if it's not that important.

its not that important, i would wait 3-4 weeks, and then call them. by then they've probably already finished your application, and they can give you your calculated gpa's. i submitted my AADSAS on june 2nd, i called them yesterday, and i'm number 587. they told me it should mail out sometime next week.

Hey there early riser

Give the admission people some time, I think you'll definetly get in for next year, so just wait and chill. Give it till middle of July and then call again. For now just wait for your mail to arrive. Should get a ton of envelops pretty soon.

Good luck, this is a process, there are ups and there are downs, but in the end its all worth it.

Am I right!

LIke HD said, just chill....you know, adcoms are people as well, and its the summer...im sure they are all taking vacations and enjoying the summer with their families...I remember when I talked with the rep from Buffalo, she told me that they dont start looking at applications until August....the advantage of applying now (early) is that your application will be in that first pile that they review in August...I will assume this applies to mostly all the schools....Case Western excepted.....

If the secondary application at a school requires your AADSAS number (UNC's, for example), then getting the number early will let you finish the secondary early. Other than that, I think most of the folks on here have been getting the number just out of curiosity, and to know how early their applications went out.

You might want to check out the secondaries of the schools you applied to and see if they require the number. If so, grab it and get 'em in early.

The only reason I know of that you really need your AADSAS number is for mailing in processing fee's if your school requires them. The admissions departments that I spoke with at the schools requiring the processing fee's recommended that you include your AADSAS number in with your payment. I guess so that it is easier for them to get the payment credited to the right student.
