hello~~
I know you guys are sick of listening to this same questions.. but I seriously can not decide which schools to apply to..
My GPA is 3.5 and DAT AA 24, graduating from UCLA this year.
The thing is I came from Korea, so I don't know much about the schools in other states. I am going to apply to all Cali schools except Loma Linda, but I prefer going to other states.. I didn't really have good experience in UCLA.. and USC.. I don't like their program...

I checked other schools website.. but it didn't really help...
Well. ..weather, tuition, location is not a big concern for me..

I would prefer having more clinical experience and be well prepared to become specialist, also nice facility...
Considering these factors what do you think the best school is for me??
I would really really!!!!! appreciate if you can list 10 schools where I should apply to..

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nova, University of Florida, New York University, University of Michigan, University of Pacific, University of Colorado, there is a new one being built in ponoma CA coming up in 09 i believe, UNLV.. there are so many to choose from.. here is a list of all of them sorted by state. Where to apply shouldn't be a huge concern for you to be honest.. the more the merrier :D

ha ha ha, well how bout this what kind of weather do you like? I didn't add UCLA and USC in my list because i knew you didn't want to go there. Do you want a big city or more suburban/rural?

UNLV is actually university of nevada-las vegas. But oh well :D There is sooo much to choose from, what i would suggest doing is picking between more schools .. Although if you get accepted to more than one itll be tough decision making :p

Check out www.predents.com

Try to match yourself to schools where you would be most competitive and most likely to gain acceptance. Go to the school websites and match yourself up to the schools where you meet all the pre-requisites. Be smart about where you apply - you'll waste less money and will have a better chance at acceptance.

Other than that, you have to make your own choices. I'm sure once you start interviewing, that will help you narrow down your top choice.

ucsf, michigan are great schools. And uop has a 3 yr program. I also wouldn't scratch out ucla b/c it's a great school too. If you want to leave cali then maybe harvard, tufts, upenn.

Penn has a sizable Korean population, in fact it's really diverse, and although not all of its facilities are new, it does have a good specialization rate, and a large externship program. With your grades and background Penn is certainly worth looking into. Best of luck!

I really appreciate your input guys~~:)

i remembered seeing lots of koreans when i interviewed at columbia. Maybe you shouldn't waste your money to apply to cali schools if you very much prefer going out of state. there are lots of great schools in other states with less competition, since CA has a huge number of pre-dents.

don't know where to start for picking schools? refer to the ADEA guide, see which schools have averages similar to ur stats, and then eliminate by locations, etc. the race and age of each school's student body is also listed.

can anyonene tell me how many LORs are required my Loma Linda? I cant find it on their website...may i missed it.

they need a number of letters including from a spiritual leader, a science professor, an employer, a dentist, etc.

I had a committee letter sent to them, plus one from a dentist and one from a church elder. you can call and ask them for specifics. good luck!

temple, case, Upenn, Tfts, louisville, your state schools, UoP, LL, texas schools, etc.
