Ok, so this past week I thought I was going to have to reapply since I havent heard back from any schools. I started looking for a job (a real job) and ended up interviewing for a very nice position where I would be working for/with the dean of a very prestigous Top 20 MD med school.
2 hours after getting home from the interview I get an acceptance . (I wish the mail could have been a tad bit soonder!)
I originally told them that I would be re-applying next term and that I would be there well over a year. Now, with me starting in August, the most I could work is 6-7 months.
This is where I need advice: Should i.....
1) take the job and make a very nice salary before starting med school in august
2) Decline the job and tell them that someone else deserves it that will be there long-term
The reason I dont want to just start working and leave in august is because I dont want to burn any bridges as I want to do my residency in this area after med school. Do you think they will even remember me 4 years from now??? Is the dean even involved in residencies?
Need help!!
