Hello All...

I have a question about DAT..
Does dental schools accept only recent scores of DAT only ?
I mean i am gonna take my DAT by oct 2012 and I want to apply for 2014 Cycle ( not 2013 )In the meantime i want to volunteer in a dental office for one year.. so would dental schools accept my 2 year old DAT scores or they won't?

they will, but what you are thinking is a bit risky, due to the fact if you don't get in your first year, then your DAT is at risk of expiring. You want to leave yourself room for reapplying. I believe the DAT is valid for 2-3 years ( you should do some research from the ADA to clarify).

Your DAT scores will be valid for up to 3 years in general. I have never heard of any dental school accepting DAT scores more than 3 years old. Do check with the dental schools you're applying to though. Some are exceptions, such as scores being valid for 2 years.
