Right now, there are 435 viewing pre-allopathic, and 79 viewing allopathic? Would you say these ratios roughly reflect the acceptance rate of people into med schools (on a ball park level)?

But the 45-40% acceptance rate is only for those who actually apply. There are quite a few people who start out college as premed and switch for one reason or another. Maybe it depicts that ratio better?
I'd be willing to bet dollars to dimes that members of SDN fare significantly better.

No, especially not on SDN. The overall acceptance rate of applicants to medical schools is pretty close to 50% and I'd be willing to bet dollars to dimes that members of SDN fare significantly better. [79/ (435+79)]*100= 15.4%; even that value is higher than most individual schools' admissions rates.
What was the point of this question, by the way?
No silly, more than 79 people get into Med School every year. 😀
