also, why haven't they interviewed you at the 4 you applied to...didn't you get like 40 on mcat? you and the rest of those canada applicants are excellent.•••
I applied to 8 schools on AMCAS. But I only sent away 4 secondaries. I have an almost guarenteed acceptance at my local school (University of Manitoba) which is ranked in the top 5 in Canada, and somewhere in the top 30 or 40 in North America, I think. It's really cheap for me (only about $4000 US a year for tuition). And I don't qualify for ANY financial aid in the US, so I'm on the hook for the whole $200,000 or whatever a top private school costs. So, I decided about November to only apply to schools that I would consider going to above Manitoba, even if it costs me an extra $175,000. And those were the schools that made the cut.
The other schools that I applied to were Cornell (I decided I didn't want to live in New York), UCSF (they've only admitted one international in the past six years, so I decided it was a waste of money), WashU (I wish I'd sent away that one, actually, but I ran out of time), and Mayo (I wish I'd sent away that one too, now that I think about it).
My MCAT was a 38-40Q. I haven't gotten any rejections yet, so maybe I still have an interview coming. And, mail takes like two and a half weeks to get to the US from Canada! So, Yale was my first application complete, which was December 4th. I submitted my secondaries back in November, which is kinda late, I know. But Duke, Harvard, and Stanford are just complete this week! Damn letters...
