Well hopefully this thread will survive and it can help out some of us. List the school from which you haven't heard and hopefully others will let us know if they've heard since the new year started.

Cornell
Jefferson
NYU
Ohio State
Penn
Sinai
Tufts

Hi,

Heard from Tufts and Penn, but not since the New Year.

There was another thread about Tufts--Tufts started interviewing in November (6 weeks later than usual), they only interview on Tuesdays, and they took about 4 weeks off for the holidays. I think they should be starting up again about now.

Don't worry--everything is way backed up this year. We are just approaching the beginning of the middle of the game at this point!

Good luck!

Well, I did expedite the process a bit by withdrawing from schools after my USA acceptance. Any more acceptances in your neighborhood? If my letter from Albany is good news and they hook me up with some $$$, I may be seeing you there.

Nope, no word from anyone in quite a while, even OHSU, who told me to call them after the holidays, said they couldn't say yet whether they'd be interviewing me. 🙁 The only school besides Albany I've interviewed at is Columbia, and I don't hold out a lot of hope there (although I did think my interview went well). 6 interviews coming up in February, though.

Hope you get some good news soon from Albany! 🙂

The strange thing is that, despite the uncertainty about where I'll be spending the next four years of my life, I don't have much anxiety about the application process anymore. I sleep well at night knowing that my fate is in the capable hands of the admissions committees at these fine institutions. 😀

i am not going to post the 17 schools i have not heard from, because they have already been mentioned above. the true question, i believe, is are people being REJECTED from these schools yet? is there even any movement going on at the likes of GW, penn, boston, etc?
has anyone been rejected from any schools posted here? as for me, i am just excited about my ONE interview and hopefully i can sell myself there. because i am tired of stressing about this. sheesh.

Wow! Things are moving quickly for me (thank _____ &lt;- Insert your favorite deity here.) Now I'm only waiting to hear from the lovely UF and fabulous Emory 😀 . Good news from either would make my day!

Hey andi11-

Are you a new jersey resident?

I just wanna clear something up--I just can't help it cuz I'll probably be headed there next year--so here goes.

The two jersey m.d. schools are:

UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School
and
UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School

Not just UMDNJ for "NJ Med". Sorry I don't mean to sound like an anal freak. I spend time explaining this to everyone including parents and friends. I know it is weird to repeat the word "new jersey" in the name but for some reason that's the name and I'm cool with it cuz they are gonna give me the name "Dr. Megkudos" some day.

Just curious, are these schools that folks have not gotten a secondary from or schools that they haven't heard from since the secondary? I think there is a big difference 🙂

I have not heard from Stanford or USC since secondary.

Post-secondary is what I'm assuming. I finally heard from SLU and Vermont (YAY! 2 more interviews), so my list is now down to:

Boston
GW
U. Michigan
Mt. Sinai
OHSU
Tufts
UVa
Wash U.

I am waiting on:
Ohio State
Wright State
NEOUCOM (currently reviewing my file)

Have interviews completed or scheduled at:
OU-COM (DO) - acceptance
Cincinnati
Medical College of Ohio
Case Western

Why do some schools take soooooooo long! I thought I would hear from Wright State first and I didn't think I would get a Case invite, but I am not whining - YET!

<img src="graemlins/pity.gif" border="0" alt="[Pity]" /> - Someone do this for me when I start whining!

I have yet to hear anything from the 4 US schools I applied to:

Stanford
Harvard
Yale
Duke

I suppose it's my fault for only choosing 'reach' schools, but it'd be nice to hear something from somebody!

ex squeeze me..baking powder?? brandonite...did you really only apply to those 4 schools (in US)? don't you think there's other schools here you'd be happier with than in canada? not knocking canada at all by the way..but showing some effort in US schools tells me you'd be ok coming here..so why not apply to like emory or case or something?

also, why haven't they interviewed you at the 4 you applied to...didn't you get like 40 on mcat? you and the rest of those canada applicants are excellent.

I applied to 8 schools on AMCAS. But I only sent away 4 secondaries. I have an almost guarenteed acceptance at my local school (University of Manitoba) which is ranked in the top 5 in Canada, and somewhere in the top 30 or 40 in North America, I think. It's really cheap for me (only about $4000 US a year for tuition). And I don't qualify for ANY financial aid in the US, so I'm on the hook for the whole $200,000 or whatever a top private school costs. So, I decided about November to only apply to schools that I would consider going to above Manitoba, even if it costs me an extra $175,000. And those were the schools that made the cut.

The other schools that I applied to were Cornell (I decided I didn't want to live in New York), UCSF (they've only admitted one international in the past six years, so I decided it was a waste of money), WashU (I wish I'd sent away that one, actually, but I ran out of time), and Mayo (I wish I'd sent away that one too, now that I think about it).

My MCAT was a 38-40Q. I haven't gotten any rejections yet, so maybe I still have an interview coming. And, mail takes like two and a half weeks to get to the US from Canada! So, Yale was my first application complete, which was December 4th. I submitted my secondaries back in November, which is kinda late, I know. But Duke, Harvard, and Stanford are just complete this week! Damn letters...
