So I just talked with one of the AMCAS "specialists" on the phone. During our conversation I was able to verify (finally) that all 4 of my transcripts had been received. I also asked a few questions that some of you might be interested in. She told me that you don't lose your place in line if you add a school to your list after the original submission of your application, transmission will just be later for the school that you add later. However, before you go adding all the new schools you want to apply to, the same woman also told me that transmission of applications to the med schools had begun "a couple of weeks ago" for EDPs and people who submitted during the first week. From the sounds of this board, how could that be true? I wish these people could communicate with each other so we all get the same story. ARGGGGHHH!

I am myself, like you somehow... -Ed Vedder

Yeah right! The only transmission I've heard about was several EDP applicants getting their apps FedExed to medical schools. I submitted the first week, and my app only got processed less than a week ago. Of course, EDP applicants should go first and I have no problem with that, but I wonder how much of what AMCAS told you is just saying what we want to hear.

I just got off the phone with Gtown and they said they haven't received anything from AMCAS, hence they haven't sent out any secondaries.

I guess all these threads about AMCAS doing well, ain't all that well after all.... I knew it was too good to be true. ;)

i love that "4-6 weeks" transmittal line. it still cracks me up to remember the "specialist" feeding it to me. what a way to skirt the issue. instead of taking responsibility, they found a nice little clause to hide behind. JUST ADMIT YOU SCREWED UP, YOU PROFESSIONAL IDIOTS!!! just saying "We've made several errors and need time to correct them" would do wonders to my attitude toward AMCAS. I am a very forgiving person in general, but NOTHING IS MORE INFURIATING THAN A PERSON WHO DOESN'T ADMIT TO THEIR MISTAKES AND AT LEAST SEEM APOLOGETIC!

just had to get that off my chest....

Paranoid Android: First of all, I really like your username. :) Also, I just wanted to say thanks for answering that question about losing my place in line if I add a school. I had been trying to figure it out for a long time. Thanks for sharing the new info and good luck.
