I think I'm going to die of shock!!!

    This is incredible. I emailed AMCAS to check if they had my transcript earlier today...around 3:30 to be exact. Then, in less than one and a half hours, I received a response!! Whou'da thunk it. Equally amazing was the response--they have my transcript on file. Woo-hoo!
    Something is finally going right here! :cool:

    They've doubled their e-mail response staff, thank God. Go to the "Good website for AMCAS info" that someone else posted for more on what they're doing to fix the mess. http://www.elon.edu/househ/amcas01k.htm
    I was equally amazed when I called them this afternoon to only have to wait on hold for 10 minutes!

    That is amazing!! Hopefully they will now respond to my email about my transcripts!!! This is my third time emailing them!

    I wrote them yesterday morning asking about status of my application. No reponse yet. I think they're selective in their responses.

    I called them this morning at 11:30 EST and was floored when I waited 0 minutes. That's right - as soon as the automated message at the beginning was over, a specialist came right on. At least my phone bill will be lower...

    I have to agree with RXFUDD on this one - I called this morning at about 11:00 am and at the end of the standard recording about unusual high call volume, a live person answered immediately! Absolutely no wait to talk with them. Now, let's just hope they starting processing the applications.

    allengal & sz, make sure when you e-mail them to use the subect lines that they recommend. If you don't know them, the automated phone message gives them all.

    wow! I spent around half an hour on hold each of the two times I called today...but at least it is a local call, so I can't complain too much.

    and I got to listen to that lovely (yeah right) background music while I ate lunch. :)

    Even if you use the subject lines, they don't always respond. I used the exact headline "transcript status" as they requested, and got back the exact same generic email about using the right headlines and blah, blah, blah. I don't know what they're doing over there, but it sure isn't efficient.

    I too was one of the lucky ones....3 minutes flat!

    But I think they got rid of that awesome Mariah Carey Adult-Contemp remix CD.....I was actually starting to grow fond of it ;)
