Where should I start looking for research? Any ideas

here's one way...

you can go to your school's website (if you're in undergrad. if not, go to a school near you or one that you're interested in) and click on academic departments. choose an academic department that interests you (for example, let's say biology) and then check out the faculty associated with that department. usually, there'll be a little blip about what kind of research that person is doing (if any) and you can e-mail then directly to let them know that you're extremely interested in getting involved with some research and that their research in particular interests you a great deal. and then (humbly) ask them if they can meet with you to discuss their research with you (or you can be direct and ask whether or not they would welcome you into their lab). some professors won't reply or will say no, but don't be discouraged - i've come to realize that they're just really busy and their "rudeness" is really lack-of-time.

Mayo Clinic Jacksonville is hiring if you are in the area.

Along with cold-emailing profs, there are usually tech jobs posted on regular ol' med school HR sites.
