Being an Idaho resident kinda sucks for dental school. We don't have our own school, but we're also not a member of WICHE.

I've already applied to all the usual suspects - a lot of private schools and the typically OOS friendly state schools like Nevada, Louisville, etc. My question is... Are there any schools that are normally not considered all that OOS friendly, but might be more open to taking someone from the Northwest and/or from a state without a dental school?

Should I apply to Iowa (29% OOS)? or Colorado (36% OOS)?

I actually thought about Utah, but with so many BYU applicants gunning for those spots, I wondered if I would still have a shot. I read that BYU has the most dental school applicants in the country.

It does have the most dental students, by a long shot. But that could even be in your favor. I think it's always worth a shot.

Utah is ONLY allowed 20 in state, so the other 5 spots or whatever must be from out of state preferably something like kontanta or Idaho or Alaska.

I didn't think about that. Thanks. I'll look into it.
