If all medical schools suddenly closed down...

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Or maybe the owner and operator of a huge ranch full of game animals.

Shoot, I'd probably have to be a zookeeper or be on Animal Planet. Thats about the only 2 things my Zoology/Physiology degree would qualify me for. But I hate snakes and crocs, so most likely I'd be at some small-scale Zoo cleaning up elephant crap.

 Looks like Joe and Ryan might have some problems! Ryan wants to feed and take care of animals and Joe wants to shoot them!!

I think I would really like to be a high school biology teacher. I really had a couple of terrible science teachers in high school and I think that I could do a much better job helping kids become more interested and curious about biology and science in general.

probably become an acountant/CPA

perfusionist or pharmacist.....a career not health related would maybe be get a MBA and start a engineer company(DOnt know)

Before medical schools, new doctors learned their training thru apprenticeship, and eventually took over the doc's office when he (it was mostly 'he') then retired. That's what I'd do.

But if I wanted to be selfish, I guess I'd be a ballet dancer or an ice skater. I love the gracefulness of its art and the creative blend of music and dance.

I know that was a joke but I am an animal lover myself, Me and Ryan will get along great. I always wanted to be a vet or a doc and i decided to go the doc route. I have 5 cats, 2 dogs, and 7 horses at home that I love. Anyway just wanted to make sure you guys didn't think I was a animal hater.

I know this sounds funny but, simply go back to my 120k/year ER PA job.

Fashion designer, in high school and even now (when I have time) I make clothes. I just love science and medicine wayyy too much though!

just wondering why did you leave this career , Becuz i only hear good things about being a PA.

Probably go back to law school!! LOL Or continue with my teaching career. Actually, I'd think about getting an Ed.D. or even another M.A. to expand the number of classes I'd be "qualified" to teach.

Of course....teaching doesn't pay crap....so I'd probably go back to law school!! (Just kidding...I'm not *just* in it for the money).

being a PA is great. But the way of the high paid PA is goingt the way of the do-do. 99% are completely happy with seeing fast track stuff, collecting a great living and head home at night. The last few percent want the responsibility and the FINAL word. I work in a rural setting where the only MD back up I have is by phone. I do the EXACT same job as the physician that might relieve me at 8, except his checks are three times the size and he does not have to call the director to admit someone for him.

Tooi many very under trained PAs entering the force by the thousands. So poorly prepared that they are hurting the carreers of the rest of us.

I took a few years off school before I decided to go back. That was somewhat disconcerting to my parental units; I often got the "what do you want to do with your life" question. Mind you, I was working as a chemist then, and I wasn't in too much of a hurry to leave my happy-go-lucky life behind...

My answer?

"I wanna be a singing snowboarder."

I guess I can always pursue that dream again...

I would try to be a pornstar, but it would eventually lead me into a large perscription of viagra.

i have always wanted to be a backup dancer for some huge singer/rapper...that's what I would do 😎

I would teach Organic Chemistry... I am seriously kind of sad that it's over in a week. I loved Organic Chemistry as weird as that may sound... and to add to that weirdness, I'll miss it.

...what would you do for a future career? I'm curious... lemme know what you guys all think!

I'd open a medical school and make lots of money off the students.

When I was growing up, I always told my parents that I liked learning so much that I was going to just stay in school forever...maybe that would pan out after all. 🙂 Just need to find someone to finanace it.
