If I could do medicine over again...

For all the current residents and attendings out there... If you could go back and choose a different specialty... what would you choose?

Please do NOT vote if you are in med school, applying to residency, or an intern so we can keep this among trained individuals who have been in the specialty for at least a year or more. Choices 10-20 are if you would change your specialty and train in that field instead.

I think a lot of EPs would choose anesthesia. It has the same benefit of not having a patient base, a mix of procedures and medicine, opportunity for a decent lifestyle and good portability.

this is a terrible poll. Statistically, it doesn't make any sense. You are getting results of people who like their residency with this poll not the percentage of people who would choose their specialty again out of all the people that chose that specialty. this is actually what you want to know.

First of all... I'm not trying to publish my results in JAMA, so chill out. It's just a poll for fun to see what people would do if they had residency to do over again.

Second of all... How do you know what I'm looking for??? Can you read my mind? And how would it be that only people who "like their residency" are responding on this poll??? Can you read other people's minds???

Third and Finally... I didn't realize that such decisions (like what to choose on this poll) are so aggravating to you that you are staying up at night and "wasting" so much of your valuable time. I think you need to find something better to do, rather than over-analyze this...
