just took the april mcat.... however, i'm thinking about signing up for retake... but the only date available (at the closest test center) is july. i plan on submitting my apps on amcas in early june. so if my retake score won't come back until mid august, does that put me at a disadvantage? (i'm not a very competitive applicant)

It puts you at a disadvantage compared to if you were to take it earlier, but you can't quantify it.

If there is an earlier date close by and you're prepared for the retake then do it. The earlier the better.
