I know you're joking but for the record, osteopathic schools are medical schools. Thus, if you can't go to medical school then you would go to a medical school? Doesn't make that much sense.

lol. Well done in pointing that out (that was sort of hypocritical of Slickness). If I can't get into medical school, I'm going to start applying to PhD programs in biology. I'm getting a master's degree after I finish undergrad anyway (so I'll be applying to med school with a master's degree already completed). So I figure, if all the med schools I apply to reject me (and I'll be applying to a LOT of medical schools), getting the PhD in biology would be the next logical step. I wouldn't mind working in biological research for the rest of my life.

That hopkins adcom must be a huge a-hole to joke about an applicant with enough nuts to keep trying. I bet that hopkins adcom has no sense of perspective at all on struggling to achieve anything. What a tool. 🙄

If i dont get in I will have no choice but to end myself. The only important thing in life is attending a Top 10 medical school and if I cannot do that my life will have been for naught. I only hope that my brother will go on to provide my family with honor since I will have failed so miserably.

This is one of those rare occasions in my life when I actually agree with Gleevec. That is pretty insensitive of that "Hopkins adcom" to joke about an applicant who had enough drive, ambition, and determination to apply 5 times. I've heard that it's practically futile past the 2nd time...but you really do have to admire the few who apply a 3rd, 4th, or 5th time because it REALLY takes determination to get so many rejection letters...and keep on trying. Most people would've given up long ago. I admire that applicant...even if the applicant didn't have the greatest GPA, MCAT, ECs, etc etc....I still admire her determination to get admitted to a US allopathic medical school.

That "adcom" from Hopkins is a piece of ****. Yes, their medical school is probably one of (if the "the") best in the world...but that doesn't give them a right to look down on/belittle determined applicants. It's behavior like that which irritates me and if I have to be around people like that if I enter medicine...I'll happily pursue a PhD in the field I love (biology) and spend the rest of my years as a researcher.
 
I keep hearing about hollywood upstairs and still have no idea what people are referring to. Can you please explain to us that are behind what this saracasm refers to?
