If you could go back to undergrad and take a couple more classes to prepare you for dental school, which ones would you take? 😕

more micro- immunology, medical micro, virology, also embryology maybe neuroendocrinology (my school offered that and I almost took it, should have)

i agree micro, immunology, biochem, and histology would have been great courses to take in undergrad. the kids who took them had a much easier time with the material than those who did not.

I've only taken biochemistry, immunology, and one semester of physiology (of the two semester series). But if I had more time, I would've taken more physiology that covered the nervous system and endocrine system. Histology, microbiology, embryology, and pathology would be top of the list as well.

honestly, i wish i had taken more history or literature classes. Once you're in dental school you're never gonna get a chance to take classes like that again. I had a pretty heavy science major with lots of micro and biochem, and let me tell you, i wasn't very insplired learning all this crap for the sixth time in dental school. Learn it, forget. Learn it, forget. I was so burnt out by the end of my senior year that I had trouble getting motivated in my first year of dental school. Take it easy, and relax.

Anatomy. I still did ok, but I don't like getting B's.

Agree w/Anatomy!! Even though it's mainly memorization... it's sort of daunting! 😕

I'd take more of the classes where I could afford to ditch them 80% of the times. You definitely need a good vacation before dental school. 😀

Would you guys recommend that i take a bass guitar class? 😀
It shouldn't be that hard as i'm already a bassist.

So far, the most valuable classes that I took in college are anatomy and histology (more so than biochem and micro). At my school these two courses are an avalanche for the folks who have never taken them before - especially anatomy.

my undergrad anatomy and 2 semesters of physiology have been the most helpful so far. I think taking the anatomy lab would have been helpful too.
