Apologies in advance to those who are tired of hearing about this, but it deserves to be known: there is growing support voicing opposition to the use of ventilation shutdown.
Read about VSD, form your own opinions, I'm not here telling you what to believe, but if you want to voice your opposition as well, you can do it here:

Consider that if you pay dues to SAVMA or the AVMA, your money has gone towards the operations cost of the AVMA, including their depopulation guidelines that permit the use of VSD. You have a right to let them know if you disagree with their decision.
I'm not trying to start anything heated, my opinions on the matter are in a thread somewhere in /veterinary, but also happy to discuss the topic more here.
