For example: if you turn down school A to attend school B (but havent gotten accepted yet), should you tell school B, or would that not be professional? Say school B is your #1 choice, and that is the one place you really want to be, would it be wise to disclose this info?

i.e. could it help your chances of getting in a tad?

just wait you get turned down by your number one choice school. Risky move and a very very bad move. There are no guarantees in the dental school process, and you are only risking screwing yourself over.

oh...i thought it might show your passion for attending THEIR school...nm then

you can tell them that you have a deposit deadline approaching for school A so you would appreciate it if they (school B) could inform you of their decision. this shows passion for their school and also may expedite the process. but don't tell them that if that's a total lie cause they may find out somehow..

Schools want to see that your number one passion is to become a dentist, even if that means not going to your top choice school. So I think they would actually look down upon a move that may jeopardize your chances of becoming a dentist.

Well said, what is your ultimate goal to become a dentist or go to a certain school.

You can write a letter of intent, simply stating that if given the opportunity you would select school B over school A. List a few reasons why school B is a better fit for you, but don't talk trash about school A.

OMG i have no clue why you would ever do that...what if you didn't get accepted...then you wouldn't get into either school...plus...if a school is going to reject you they can care less about ur feelings...so accept and send in your deposit to be safe..and belive me when you withdraw ur application there are going to be a hundred people they can pull off a waiting list that will be sooo excited...

Good advise. A dental school acceptance is a precious thing, don't throw it away unless you already have another.
