In six months, be sure to post how 'happy' you are to be in in osteopathic school!

Q: What is the difference between an osteopathic student and dog ****?

A: No one goes out of their way to step on dog ****.

Soon you will find out why they say that DOs eat their young.

BTW, it is wonderful to be in the nurturing world of an ACGME residency...great teaching...compassionate attendings...cooperative residents...intelligent medical students.
At least attending DO school allowed me to appreciate what I have now and how fortunate I am to have matched here.

Tsk,tsk, tsk, what a typical osteopathic mindset...editing my messages. Derek, do your friends call you Dick?

prefontaine,

Isn't that picture you paint for your osteopathic colleagues too grim? If you don't like being a DO, why did you become one in the first place?

You should explain your situation.

I've never met a DO who complained about getting screwed over simply because he was a DO, or who was getting the shaft from the older generations of DOs. As far as I could tell when I was interviewing for medical school, the osteopathic faculties seemed much more approachable than the allopathic faculties, and this can only reflect positively on their concern for their students and their patients.

I am impressed by the students often. I am very happy to be going to med school here.

G-luck everyone....

BTW, our provost is The President Elect of the AOA- Dr. Krpan.

I'm just starting at University of Health Sciences-College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri. We just finished orientation and so far I am greatly enjoying it. Tonight was our white coating ceremony. It was very special and a moment that I doubt I will forget. I would love to meet students from other osteopathic schools and here about their first week of school.
