March will be, for those who frequent this forum, madness. Waiting.... waiting.... and more waiting for match day. :boom:

Since everybody seems to like arbitrarily ranking programs and making lists, here's some fun for march madness: IM residency program march madness - by conference...

I've listed 5 D1 conferences, the pseudo-D1 Ivy, and the D-3 UAA and listed what I think are their 5 best "teams".

Now its up to you guys to rank the conferencesboth in terms of IM residencies (and basketball if you please), debate the seeds I gave them, argue about eligibility (should UCSF or OHSU go in the Pac10?, does UTSW count as Texas?) make brackets, and such. Did your conference or school get left out? Who is the best non-conference 5? Is your conference deeper than 5 teams? And, of course, who are YOUR final four? 🙄

ACC
Duke
UNC
UVA
Maryland
Wake

Big10
Michigan
Northwestern
Ohio State
Wisconsin
Iowa

Pac10
Washington
Stanford
UCLA
USC
Arizona

Big 12
Texas (UTSW)
Colorado
Baylor
Texas Tech
Missouri

University Athletic Association
WashU
UChicago
Emory
CWRU/UH
NYU

Big East
Pitt
Georgetown
Cincinatti
Louisville
Connecticut

Ivy
Harvard
Penn
Columbia
Yale
Cornell

(sorry SEC, you didn't cut it in my fake world)

Hopefully this can provide some good SDN / ESPN style fun.

Cheers, and good luck with the match! 😎

Hate to be a party pooper but Baylor Houston has no affiliation with the Baylor in Waco Texas. But for this magical world of SDN/ESPN it will have to do.

Also I would argue that Iowa has a better medicine program than Ohio state and Wisconsin

That is all, fun idea though!

MN definitely has a better basketball team than Iowa, Ohio State and WI and has an as good if not better IM program than all of them as well.

Here are the 11 IM programs affiliated with a medical school on the west coast :

1. UCSF
2. Washington
3. UCLA
4. Stanford
5. UCSD
6. UC Irvine
7. OHSU
8. UC Davis
9. USC
10. Arizona
11. Loma Linda

Honestly, I don't know much about Arizona or Loma Linda, so maybe it's not so fair for me to rank them so low.

This thread is a little too complicated for me. I'm hoping to go Big 12 --> Big 10. This is going to necessitate some research on espn.com.

Does Davidson have an internal medicine program, LOL . If they did Stephen Curry would be the Chief resident. haha!
