Hello all,
Im a third year medical student thinking about doing the army reserve in the future. Does anyone have an opinion about which specialty would better prepare me for that: Im or family? Im am leaning towards IM as i am not that interested in ob. Thanks for the help!

Of the two, Family Medicine.

That said, pick the one you enjoy the most.

Don't let a possible part time job derail you into something that isn't your first choice.

The potential of joining the reserve should have no bearing on this choice

The Army will in almost all cases treat you identically. Choose your specialty based on its own merits, not the needs of the Army.
