I have an IMG friend who is waiting for ECFMG certification. She got an email that everything is verified for certification and the certificate should be mailed out in 5 days.

Congratulations! You have met the requirements for certification through ECFMG. Your Standard ECFMG Certificate will be sent by Federal Express in approximately 5 business days to your address of record, which is shown below.

She called ECFMG and they made it sound like the email was just to let her know she is verified and it doesn't necessarily mean her certificate has been made or sent out.

Does anyone know if the email means the certificate will be mailed out soon?

Im not sure if the same thing applies to your friend (though it likely does), but by the time i got that email, i was already ECFMG certified and it reflected on the "ECFMG status report" tab in myERAS, as well as in ECFMG's OASIS. I then got my physical certificate 4 days after the email via Fed Ex.

if its via thalamus. i believe it will automatically place you if a spot opens up for that date. if via eras, i believe you have to constantly check. you may also call/email the pc and inquire how to get off the waitlist.

They had a primary care program that they closed last year. I liked the program and want to rate them high but worried about the quality now.

I don’t know anything about 5 of them, but Advent Health Orlando is legit. Huge hospital system with multiple services in a city with lots to do. No cardio fellowship and no idea on reputation, but they have the highest step scores in IM in the state. Bonus is the best vegetarian options I’ve ever seen (super important if you are vegetarian, but zero importance if you’re not. If you are then I can expand further).

memorial health has a nice healthcare system and GME infrastructure, but they are new-ish and probably no reputation at all. They do have a new cardiology fellowship starting in July. Also, they are in the Broward/near Miami area so also lots to do.
