IMG looking for california summer electives + residency

Hey there, i'm a 4th year medical student in Ireland, lookin to do my summer electives and possible residency in california or Hawaii.

As i am looking for elective positions at the moment, it seems to me that most californian medical schools won't accept IMGs for elective positions.

Does anyone know if there are any lists of medical schools in Cali that will accept IMGs? And does that mean IMGs aren't allowed to apply there for residency after 5th year as well?

California is tough to match as a US student, let alone as an IMG. Check the match results by state on the NRMP website, they will show you just how challenging it is

as an IMG, even from the Western world, you will have barriers and need to consider the least competitive/desirable places and programs

You just named two of the most popular destination states in the whole of the US, if you didn't know

I'm not sure how competitive Hawaii is though, but I would check
