Some of these, however, do not sponsor visas. Maimonides turned my application instantly down before downloading scores, letters, etc. (stating they do not sponsor any visas.) So for those of you who are not citizens/green card holders, I would recommend to call every program before applying to check their visa policy. Wishing everybody good luck!

When I did my student elective at Brown, they had a couple guys from SGU, one from Canada...and this year it seems they've taken someone from Ireland.

One quick question about sponsoring visas...my take on this is that the J1 is sponsored because ECFMG takes care of all the paperwork, and the program has to do very little of it. The reason many don't sponsor an H1 is because it's a heck of a lot more work plus it's more costly. Are programs more receptive if you offer to do the work for them, for example through a lawyer you hire yourself? Any comments?
