Government entitlements don't come without strings attached. New Zealand screens immigrants based on helath issues so they won't become a burden on the socialist healthcare system there. If a socialized system is paying the bills it makes sense to discriminate against people with risk factors. Those who advocate a socialist system need to be ok with that. It's likely that immigrants with diseases like diabetes, HIV, cancer, CAD, HTN and so on would be barred just as they are currently unable to be insured by private insurers.
