Interested to hear from current students, PGYs, and potential residency PDs about the importance of honoring clerkships for MDPhD students.

From my understanding, the majority of MDPhD graduates do IM, PSTPs, or typically less competitive non surgical specialties. For those that decide that their ideal career is in a competitive specialty or in a surgical specialty, do clerkship honors matter very much? As opposed to publications, LOR/Networking, and even Step 2 scores, are clerkship honors basically irrelevant?

yes, they matter a great deal in competitive specialties, many of which don't care or care little about your research if you can't hack it clinically. That isn't to say that clerkship honors necessarily reflect that ability, but they are an easy shortcut. Same with board scores.
