I just called the AAMC today, and I was told that my app (submitted July 5) would be processed in the next "batch" this Friday or Monday. For those of us who submitted in early July and haven't been processed yet, hopefully this week is the week. But remember to take anything the specialists say with a bushel of salt.

Thanks for telling us this. Unfortunately, I highly doubt the validity of any of the specialists at AMCAS anymore. That's why I've stopped calling.

I can verify what the original poster said. The person I spoke to yesterday said that they have already processed two batches of applications and that people who submitted during the first week of July (the third batch) should have theirs processed by the end of this wekk or the beginning of next week. He actually recommended that we keep calling back frequently to check on the status of our application so that "if something rears its ugly head, we can cut it off by the neck before it gets too bad."

I also submitted 7/7 and nothing has happened. I also called AMCAS today (after waiting 35 minutes to get through to a "specialist") and he said - they are behind and it will be "processed soon" - who knows what that means. That was the same thing I heard 2.5 weeks ago when I called to see what was happening with my app since they had it as well as my transcripts.

Yes, supposedly they have been working exclusively on EDP applicants with only a few other apps done as "tests."

"Supposedly" being the key word. I submitted July 5 and I'm EDP. NOTHING. My school has received the one page summary and no verifications or processing as of yet. Frustating is the understatement of the year.

Supposedly these apps were supposed to be processed either today or Monday. But I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you.

I submitted on 7/5 and it's now Tuesday. I don't have a "change notification" box, any red X's, or any marks by my grades.

Ditto, spacecadet. Submitted on 7/5 and nothing has happened yet. I'm going to call tomorrow if it still isn't verified. This is unbelievable.

Well, I had a heart-to-heart with one of the specialists this morning, and he told me that my app (submitted 7/5)would probably be processed in the next week or two. Last week, I was told it would be processed on Friday or Monday. Like I said before, take anything that AMCAS tells you with a bushel of salt.

Are the red x's only for app. currently being prossesed? or all applications regardless of prossesing date soposed to get them. My APP. was submiteded June 28, and recived by my schools Aug.28, but I just cheked Amcas online and I have no x's. I don't know if this means anything.

I submitted July 5 and when I called AMCAS a while ago, the said I would probably be processed Aug 23 or 24. Of course, I have no X's or date processed on my printout. I wrote AMCAS asking them the status of my app. and they said it was sent to med schools Aug 6th...Has anyone else had contradicting news like this????

Of course, this is AMCAS after all! I also submitted on July 5th and they told me the exact same thing. Upon further questioning I found out that UNVERIFIED photocopies of our application were sent to schools on August 6th. I asked when our application would be verified and transmitted to schools and the reply was that they will be processing applications in the fall--whenever that is.
