In possible interview pool at TOO many schools

as of right now from the top of my head I can say with certainty that at least 4 schools for sure have put me in "possible interview pool" or "favorably reviewed but for some reason not sending interview invite" application status.

to me, that seems too many.
What the hell.

Anyone wanna shed any light.
I knew about schools waitlisting people after interview but this is actually new to me.

What are my chances?

Anyone wanna tell me how to get off of this status to getting an interview. Has anyone done anything to get themselves off. Please, Don't tell me "i heard a week later from the school for interview" b/c i have read this already and for some reason THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED TO ME. 😡

I would think any addition to your file would be useful: another LOR, update on grades, project you've recently became involved in, etc. Can't hurt you and can only show the school that you're interested.

Have you sent update letters? That's what I did to a few of the schools that I'm in the possible interview, or hold list. Haven't heard anything yet though, so I can't tell you how effective it is, since I just sent them out about a week ago. But when I called the schools, they all encouraged update letters, along with updated transcripts from the fall semester.

i'm in a "possible interview" pool at two schools, post-interview waitlist at one, post-interview limbo at one, and pre-interview limbo at nine others.

now that i think about it, the number is probably higher by 2 or 3.

i don't wanna wait around to hear from school. i wanna go out of country so i want to hear from a school early.

no NOT 2 schools, but like 6 or 7.

I started the thread by saying it was 4 but now i know it's like 7.
