In-State for Maryland (or other schools)

Have any of you sucesffully changed your status from out-of-state to in-state after attending a school (dental or medical) after a year. I know there's a couple of requirments which are easy to do (driver's license, car registration etc) but for maryland one of them says: 1. Is not residing in Maryland primarily to attend an educational institution.

How do you go about disproving this? I know that some people DID manage to do it but I dont know how. If anyone has actually done it and can give me a step-by-step walkthrough of the procedures and it actually works for me next year, I would be willing to pay. PM

A girl that works in my lab did it (original resident of NY), now student at UMD. She was accepted, but deferred 1 year. During that academic year she worked and filed taxes , basicly what she was told that you have to have 1/2 of your annual income from Maryland to be considered for the change of status. i am not sure if she is correct and how large the income should be. I know that in Cali the only proff they needed was a driver's lic for a year, on the other hand income tax is the best proof.
