Haha! I submitted my AMCAS app with four different transcripts on the 13th and it has already been certified! Two weeks! What luck!!!

Wow! they must really like you! They took >5weeks for me!

🙂

How can that be? I thought they were listed in order of being recieved. Why would they bump you ahead of so many other people?

It's a screwed up system. I really do feel for you.

Mine AMCAS has been certified since 6/3/03 and I haven't even submitted it yet (yeah, I know-I'm only applying a few schools). The verification/processed date is what really matters.

I wonder if the OP likes egg on face?

Sorry, that's what I meant to say. It's not certified, it's processed.

Congratulations **** ****,

Your AMCAS application has completed processing on Oct-06-2003 4:27 PM.
To review your application, use the print
option located on the left side of your application screen.

***What AMCAS is sending out to schools***
For information about the application AMCAS makes available to your
designated medical schools, visit AMCAS
FAQs at http://www.aamc.org/students/amcas/faq/

Ok, so why does AMCAS like you best? Who did you bribe?????

Those of us who took over 5 weeks are pissed.😡 But not at you, we are pissed at AMCAS for putting us through grief.

Glad your app has been processed.

Hmmm. If he submitted on the 13th, and he was processed on the day that he first posted, that would be 3 weeks.
Not that much different from the five weeks they took to finish mine. And that differential is well within the bounds of reason. When you consider the fact that he waited a long time to apply and it was no longer the "peak" time for applications.
In the end I still would rather have applied when I did, even with the five week wait to be processed. The two weeks he gained don't offset the six he waited before he applied.

Congratulations anyway Premedia, on a speedy completion, and good luck on the rest of the process.

Very true. Stupid of me to wait so long to apply. I wanted to get my PS perfect before submitting. I'm going to submit my secondaries in the next week. I hope waiting this long hasn't completely ruined my chances.

You'll be fine. Sorry, I really wasn't trying to belittle your chance of going to med school. I meant to say "best of luck to you.", not "good lucky buddy, you'll need it."
Your not any further behind in the process than anyone who took the MCAT in August, and there are so many quality students in that group. I think that unless you were 4.0/42T, you probably would end up waiting the same amount of time even if you had submitted 3 months ago.
I think it will make a small difference, but I don't think it will make or break your app.
